Windows SmartScreen Notice
Meridian isn't code-signed yet, so Windows will likely show "Windows protected your PC" on first launch. This is expected for a young open-source project — click More info, then Run anyway.
Getting Started
Up and Running in Minutes

Plug It In
Connect your Compass via USB. Meridian detects it automatically.

Pick a Profile
Start from a built-in preset (WASD, Arrow Keys, IJKL) or create your own.

Remap & Tune
Assign keys to each direction and adjust sensitivity to feel.

Apply
Your mapping saves straight to the device's onboard memory.
Troubleshooting
Common Issues
Compass not detected
Try unplugging and replugging the USB cable. Make sure no other app is using the serial port. Meridian will auto-reconnect within a few seconds.
Keys not registering in game
Make sure you clicked Apply after making changes. Try lowering the deadzone value (slide toward More Sensitive). Some games require the Compass to be plugged in before launching.
Diagonals not registering
Lower the Diagonal deadzone slider toward More Sensitive. The diagonal deadzone controls how far the secondary axis needs to move when you're already pushing in a direction.
Mapping resets after unplugging
Make sure you click Apply before unplugging. Your mapping is saved to the device's flash memory and should persist across power cycles.

Firmware
Updating Your Compass
Meridian checks for new firmware on connect and links you to the changelog when one's available, but doesn't flash it automatically yet. To update manually:
- 1. Put the Compass into UF2 bootloader mode — it'll appear as a USB mass-storage drive.
- 2. Download the latest
.uf2file from GitHub Releases. - 3. Drag the file onto that drive. The Compass will reboot automatically once it's done.
